Does it work if WP Multilang is already deactivated?

Yes. The markers are in your posts, so we can read them whether the plugin is running or long gone.

What about my translated slugs?

TranslateRocket has its own translated slugs per language, with correct hreflang. You set them once and they are handled from then on.

Will the import damage my posts?

No. It reads only. Your posts are left exactly as they are.

Do I need an API key?

No. Chrome and Edge on a desktop carry a translator that TranslateRocket can drive for free, so the missing strings can be filled with no key and no account.

Migrate from WP Multilang — every language comes across

WP Multilang stores your languages inside the post, the same way qTranslate did. Getting them out is the hard part — unless someone has read the format properly.
